Impact and Valuation of Audiovisual Technologies in the “Hospital Materno Norte Hospital” of Santiago de Cuba

Abstract

Introduction: Man, in his interrelation, demands criteria of conduct and actions. These models of conduct are also applied to technologies, which declares a dynamic field of study and research known as information ethics, computer ethics or infoethics.

Objective: To assess the implementation of the telematic audiovisual medical platform in the period from August 2022 to August 2023, from an ethical approach, its medical-technological impact and satisfaction rates in closed hospital services, at the Materno Norte Hospital in Santiago de Cuba.

Methods: An evaluative study and an exhaustive search for information related to bioethical and infoethical aspects were carried out. A survey was designed and applied within the Materno Norte Hospital, in Santiago de Cuba, to analyze satisfaction and the impact on closed hospital services. As a statistical instrument, the “Iadov Method” was used to determine the Group Satisfaction Index and the medical-technological impact.

Results: The possibility of participating and evaluating medical-health processes obtained a relevant approval from the population. An audiovisual platform was used as a tool to improve the quality of medical services.

Conclusions: By implementing the telematic audiovisual medical platform, the medical health processes within the hospital institution were improved by its health personnel, with a positive impact and satisfaction on the part of society.
